Bo Melin often works in large scale with techniques and cheap materials found in nurseries and schools. His practice evokes strong narratives. Like gigantic cutouts from a storyboard or comic strip. Brought into the gallery space these scenarios become fragile, touching and somehow private. An exhibition about how stories and lies become reality.Bo Melin is born 1964 and graduated from Konsthögskolan Valand 1997.
Melin has invited Mattias Norström in this show, though the works presented is not the fruit of a collaboration this time. Mattias Norström has recently been awarded with “Göteborgspriset” by local paper Nöjesguiden. There is a directness in his works. An iconic quality with pop cultural references mixed with more traditional crafts. His seemingly simple manners hides layers of sensitivity and poetry channelled to a contemporary viewpoint. Mattias Norström is one of the founders of the Skankaloss festival in Gagnef, Dalarna. He also runs Konsthall Missionen, also in Gagnef.
Mattias Norström is born 1971 and graduated from Konsthögskolan Valand 2002.
