Welcome!

CHART 2021 The ninth edition of CHART takes place 27 – 29 August 2021 at Charlottenborg in Copenhagen. This year’s fair is dedicated to gathering diverse voices and positions across the art sector. After a year of pandemic, the ambition is to re-open the Nordic art scene by creating a stronger and more inclusive arts community. Join us for an art fair with 26 of the leading galleries in the Nordics, an Experimental section of 11 artist-run and alternative exhibition spaces, a brand new art book fair of inspiring artist and art-related books and printed matter, and a broad public programme of talks, performances, films, architecture, and music.

henProjects will invite three pairs of artists to collaborate on newly produced works for CHART by the following couples: Nacho Tatjer/Jacob Dahlgren, Anna Nordström/Lyndal Walker and Jakob Krajcik/Stephen McKenzie

Anna Nordström, based in Stockholm, utilizes a wide range of textile techniques, mainly patchwork, quilting and embroidery. The traditional or more common ways of creating are modified to concern thoughts on work, labour, status, value and (lack of) professionalism. Lyndal Walker's solo practice has been concerned with themes of gender, time and identity. She uses forms that challenge fine art conventions and consider the nature of images and the process of looking.

Nacho Tatjer, born in Barcelona, now based in Stockholm, works in a constant flow of impressions manifested in an associatively and poetically form of expression and it sticks on paper, wood, canvas, textile, ceramics or whatever material he stumbles over. Jacob Dahlgren, born in Stockholm, is obsessed by repetition and stripes. Dahlgren has exhibited world wide and is represented by the gallery Andréhn-Schiptjenko.

Jakob Krajcik, based in Stockholm, works with sculpture and painting. Models of buildings and interiors are recurring themes in the sculptural works. Stephen McKenzie, born in Numurkah, now based in Stockholm, is interested in the language of sculpture and a collector of art waste. These found objects turn into his materials and become an equally important part of his art making practice.
